Did you know tea is one of the most consumed beverages in the world? In the United States, black tea is the most popular tea to drink.
There’s a reason for all this consumption of tea, that’s because it’s good for you!
Black tea, green tea, oolong tea, and dark and white teas all come from the same plant, camellia sinensis, which contains antioxidants. The flavor of the tea depends on how it is processed.
Not only are there endless flavors of tea to choose from, there are many reasons why drinking tea can benefit your health.
Here are three essential teas, and why you might want to warm up with these flavors:
- Green tea is filled with antioxidants and nutrients that are good for the body. Green tea doesn’t have as much caffeine as coffee does, but it still includes enough that can help improve your mood and even your memory. Green tea even includes fat burning add-ons, which can help boost your metabolism. Plus it tastes good!
- Peppermint tea can be enjoyed if you are looking for something relaxing to drink before bed because it has no caffeine. Ever feel bloated or stressed? This tea may also help improve digestion, decrease pain and inflammation, help with weight loss, and enhance your immune system. The peppermint flavor can be an indulgent treat after a long day.
- Black tea can be enjoyed in many different ways. Adding a little milk, sugar, ginger or cinnamon will help enhance the flavor. Black tea may also help aid with digestion, among other benefits.
No matter which kind of tea you choose, each has its own unique benefits. If you’re new to tea drinking, it might be helpful to visit a local tea shop in your area for more information about the great flavors and facts of tea.
