If you can watch the Detroit Pistons Mob Squad perform one of their high-energy, hip-hop dance numbers and not want to move, you may have no rhythm.
This talented group of young athletes is headed to Grand Rapids for a special appearance at a Wednesday night Grand Rapids Drive game. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the DeltaPlex. The Mob Squad, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, will perform twice during the game, at halftime and during one timeout.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network members can get discounted tickets by calling 844-GR-DRIVE. The discounted rates are also available to local dance teams who would like to come out and watch the Mob Squad perform. Mention Blue Cross or the Mob Squad and the date of the game for the special rates.
Before the game, young fans can visit the Drive’s Kids Zone and enjoy games and giveaways. The Mob Squad will be available to sign autograph cards after their halftime performance.
For West Michigan families with young, aspiring dancers, this is the perfect night to check out a Drive game. If kids get really inspired and are already part of a dance team with participants ages seven to 15, they can enter the #MIKidsCan Dance Contest by creating an original 15-second dance video and uploading it to Instagram.
The grand prize winning team will have a chance to dance with the Mob Squad during the March 24, 2015 Detroit Pistons basketball pre-game show. Submissions will be accepted Jan. 26 through Feb. 13 and will be featured on AHealthierMichigan.org/MIKidsCan. Get full contest details here.
Break out of your routine and head over to watch the Grand Rapids Drive this Wednesday night as they take on the Idaho Stampede. You’ll watch some great D-League basketball and be inspired to move by the talented Mob Squad dancers.
