You don’t need to be perfect when you live a healthier lifestyle!

How many times have you told yourself that you really need to start living healthier? It’s a common thought that a lot of people have. But oftentimes it ends there … as just a thought.
It’s not that you don’t want to change, you really do. But along with that thought of really wanting to begin living a healthier lifestyle another thought follows as quickly as the first: it’s too much work.
I understand. Most people feel that living healthier means that you have to be on a diet. But that isn’t true. Why? Diets have endings. Diets are full of rules and restrictions. Diets contain countless, and more often than not, very unpleasant guidelines and limitations. Diets are a lot of hard work and dedication. Diets have a tendency to make you feel as though you have to eat perfectly (healthy living does NOT consist of those things.) Honestly, just saying the word DIET makes many people cringe.
But living a healthy lifestyle isn’t too much work. It’s enjoyable and challenging, without any particular guidelines or limitations. You don’t have to be perfect. You just try to be better than you are today. That’s all it takes, eating healthier foods and being more conscious of what you are consuming.
No perfection! Just being better.
You can do that, right?
Remember that there are 21 main meals in a week; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, three meals consumed Monday through Sunday. You have the choice to eat healthy or “not-so-healthy” when each mealtime arrives. If you currently consume “not-so-healthy” meals 21 times per week, maybe try to reduce that number to 18 or even 14 “not-so-healthy” meals. That means that 7 meals are healthy ones. That’s a great way to start living healthier! Not too much work, right?
You can also try to take smaller portion sizes. Don’t eliminate the food item, just have a little less, that’s all. Instead of 6 cookies, have 3. Instead of an entire bag of chips, have a handful. One bite tastes that same as twenty anyway.
Little changes can make a big difference in how you feel. Little changes also do something else, they let thoughts of healthy living become a reality.
It’s up to you. I know you really want to change. It’s not too much work. I believe you can do it.
Now prove it to yourself.
