Looking for some family-friendly fun this weekend?
Head to the four-day Petoskey Festival on the Bay for a beautiful waterfront setting and plenty of events the whole family will enjoy.
The festival fun kicks off Thursday, August 14 and runs through Sunday. The first-ever Family Night takes place on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. The alcohol-free event features a country dance complete with lessons and a dance caller. Food and games will also be available. Admission is $5 per family.
There’s plenty to keep you busy and entertained on Friday. Enjoy the farmers market on Howard Street or visit the Little Traverse History Museum. A downtown treasure hunt, live music, and kayak demonstrations are just a few of the happenings that will keep the waterfront hopping on Friday.
If you’re feeling active, there’s a 5K Wellness Walk/Run and outdoor community yoga planned for Saturday. A chalk and chocolate festival, children’s fishing derby, art show, and BBQ cook-off are also planned, along with the Great Bear River duck race.
A children’s area will be open Friday and Saturday, with face painting, snacks, games, a petting zoo, and many other activities to keep the kiddos occupied. Blue Care Network of Michigan is a sponsor of the children’s area.

Sunday winds down with the 3Disciplines Triathlon and a 10 a.m. Worship on the Bay service.
