local shops for holiday gifts
Will you be braving the Black Friday crowds, or gasp, maybe even starting your holiday shopping on Thanksgiving? Perhaps you’re more of a Cyber Monday shopper, scooping up online deals between Monday morning commitments at work. (It’s okay, we won’t tell your boss!)
In recent years, Small Business Saturday has popped up as a local alternative to shopping at big-box stores and massive online retailers. Shopping for gifts locally means the dollars you spend stay in your community, helping your neighbors, local artisans, and the economy in your town.
We encourage you to consider some of the small businesses in this roundup of Michigan shops and companies as you power through your gift list! They’re favorites of the Healthier Michigan team and our friends from around the state.
