3 Ways to Spice Up Your Eggs

From salad to scrambled, eggs are a staple in many households. Eggs are easily available and versatile, making them a healthy option for breakfasts or sandwiches.
The whole egg is a great source of high-quality protein, which contains all the amino acids needed in a human diet. Eggs also are an easy source of all vitamins except C, and many essential minerals.
In 2023, the average American consumed 279 eggs, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. With this many eggs, daily recipes are bound to get boring. Check out these different ways to change up your egg recipes:
Ricotta
If you are a ricotta fan, the cheese adds extra creaminess and makes eggs feel a bit more gourmet than only salt and pepper.
One way to incorporate ricotta into your eggs is by folding the ricotta into scrambled eggs while you’re cooking them, but you can also ricotta while mixing the eggs or fold it into the center of an omelet. It’s a versatile way to add a velvety touch to your daily recipe.
Chili Crunch Oil
Chili crunch oil has been becoming a popular way to add spice and texture to many dishes, including eggs. Chili crunch is an infused oil that typically includes crunchy and flavorful chunks of peppers, onions or scallions, garlic and other aromatic ingredients. This flavor-packed oil can be drizzled on top of any egg dish but fried and over easy eggs are the way to go to get the most out of its flavor.
Pour chili crunch in the pan and then crack the egg over it. The oil acts as a nonstick agent to keep your eggs from burning.
Tomato and Pesto
Tomato and pesto are two classic ingredients in many recipes, but they can also be incorporated into eggs to level up the flavor. Use pesto as an oil base for fried eggs or mix it into your scrambled eggs along with tomatoes. Tomatoes are versatile in omelets, scramble or even fried eggs.
To get the most flavor, soften the tomatoes in the pan with oil or butter and let them cook before adding your favorite style of eggs. This helps incorporate the flavor of the tomatoes and make them softer to eat. Both tomatoes and pesto together add a flavorful, savory touch to your usual eggs.
