There’s nothing quite like eating farm-fresh food that is grown locally. Michigan is home to several popular farmer’s markets across the state. Each offers a unique set of produce and hand-crafted goods specific to the local farms and artisans native to the area.
These farmers’ markets are worth the road trip. See how and when you can visit them this summer:

Ann Arbor’s Farmer’s Market- Ann Arbor

When: From January through April, you can visit at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. From May through December, it’s open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Where: 315 Detroit St., Ann Arbor
At this covered and open-air atmosphere market, you will find:

When: The Eastern Market takes place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday year-round. They have additional summer market days June through September, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday.

When: The Flint Farmer’s Market is open annually from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

When: From November through April, the market is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The summer market season runs from the first Saturday in May through October and is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Where: 1145 Fulton St., East Grand Rapids

Midland Area Farmer’s Market- Midland 

When: The market is open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays from May 4 through October 26. The first three Saturdays of November, the market will remain open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sara Hardy Farmer’s Market - Traverse City 

When: The market is operational from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Wednesday in May. June through October, the market is open 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Where: Parking Lot B, Corner of Cass St. and Grandview, Traverse City
The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market is one of the three largest markets in the state. They are proud to serve more than 115 local area farmers who offer:

Marquette Farmer’s and Artists Market - Marquette

When: This Upper Peninsula market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Saturday, May 18 to October 26. They also offer a Wednesday night market, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., June 19 to August 28.
