Many of us know someone who has, or is currently battling cancer and we feel helpless. We find ourselves wishing there was something we could do to support them. There is a way, and one that you may not have thought of. Donate blood. One of the highest uses of blood products is to help people fighting cancer.
On March 4, you can help Blue Care Network, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, Gilda’s LaughFest and the Wege Foundation support cancer patients and their loved ones at a special one day blood drive hosted by Michigan Blood.
For every person who attempts to donate, BCN will make a $10 donation to Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids’ High Five Children’s Grief Program, a program assisting grieving children. The Wege Foundation will match the amount raised.
The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. at 1036 Fuller NE, in Grand Rapids.
Appointments are recommended for your convenience, but walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, call 1-866-MIBLOOD(642-5663) or log on to https://donate.miblood.org
